UrbanArias: LUCY ~ April 1-8, 2017

LUCY is a one-man opera for baritone and chamber ensemble with music by John Glover and a libretto by Kelley Rourke. Set in the 1970s, it is based on the true story of the psychotherapist Maurice Temerlin, who adopted a chimpanzee named LUCY and raised her with his own family. Lucy learned sign language, had her own cat, and drank martinis-- and in this opera her "father" Dr. Maurice Temerlin tells the audience her heart-wrenching story.
