Hemispheric Dysfunctionalism and the Cortical Titanic is an experimental theater piece that uses the historic voyage of the Titanic as its narrative, 100 years after the sinking of the original ship. The Titanic becomes a metaphor for humanity and its disastrous voyage illustrates the fragility of man's attempts to dominate nature and the world we live in through technology. The characters themselves, both comic and serious, present a variety of perspectives on gender roles, class distinctions, evolution, and social Darwinism as they struggle with the rapid technical progress of the industrial age. The play is complemented by original, period-inspired music.

"Capital Fringe with its Izzy sodas for a quarter and Prosecco on tap is the right place to try something different in terms of theatre. This show is not for anyone who’s not into experimental theatre ... but it is a truly original creation to appeal to the sort of viewer who likes Waiting for Godot or absurdist theatre in general." -- Woman Around Town
It’s high-minded, but gut-punching. And ultimately, HDATCT steams through to its proper port with force and a rolling tide of interesting ideas. No “king of the world” aboard here — just a madly creative manifest. -- DCTheatreScene.com
"See Hemispheric Dysfunctionalism and the Cortical Titanic. It was a wild ride. You will not be disappointed. You will not be bored. You will not be the same after seeing it." -- Opening Night Audience Member
