Opening March 17th and playing for two weekends!

Directed by Rebecca Waxman, with choreography by Shoshana Bass and Music Direction from Bob Thies, this show will be a feast for the eyes and ears.*

With a trailblazing book and score, this musical brilliantly confronts morality, prejudice and political upheaval with deliciously snappy songs and cheeky wit.  Find out for yourself why this show is universally adored…. and discover the immediacy a young cast can bring to an iconic story.

*There are mature themes in this play, though largely implied or ‘offstage’. There are no carnal actions, and most innuendos will be un-noticed by younger viewers. Like the Cabaret film, the show content merits a PG rating as it contains risqué implications, alcohol, aggression and antisemitism.

Doug Bowles and Alex Hassan are back at the Cauldron with more laughter, merriment, touching songs and stories from the Great American Song Book. Joined by actress and singer, Jennifer Timberlake, the warblers and pianoodler will introduce you to some amazing lost and forgotten songs of the 20s and 30s that may become your new favorites. You’ll likely want to sing along on a few beloved standards as well. 

Lauded by luminaries like Michael Feinstein, Vince Giordano, Ethan Morrden, and movie critic Leonard Maltin, and featured around the globe and in broadcasts of NPR and the BBC, they are sure to please with their virtuosic and spirited interpretations of this exciting American musical style.

Just back from an appearance at The National Archives and exciting feature on BBC Worldwide, THREE FOR A SONG brings a show of boozy, bold, and beautiful melodies of the 20s and 30s guaranteed to “Go to your head, like a "sip of burgandy brew."

Pianist extraordinaire, Alex Hassan, recreates the styles of the golden age of 1920s/30s Tin Pan Alley; sublime, acclaimed East Coast based singers Doug Bowles and Iyona Blake are versatile performers who bring the songs of the Era to life with humor and heart.

An "outstandingly talented" trio, according to Michael Feinstein, they have performed to standing ovations at venues such as the Kennedy Center Jazz Club and the Library of Congress. The trio presents a delightful evening of recently discovered, never performed, breathtaking melodies from stage and film of the 1930's; with clever lyrics, bouncy rhythms, and hot tempos. Woven between the songs, you'll hear hilarious, heartwarming and surprising anecdotes about the songs and songwriters, with listeners left to wonder how on earth these melodies didn't become standards! "Greatest Songs" features 72 minutes of songs from the 1930s that were in most cases never allowed the light of day or only momentarily enjoyed the spotlight.The songs are drawn from Alex Hassan's personal collection of over 40,000 original song sheets from 1920-1940, and the newly unveiled "It's Showtime" database at the Library of Congress, which brings to light over 60,000 pieces of theatrical music from America's early days to mid twentieth-century.

The songs have been recorded in absolute brilliant style, and come complete with a 21 page booklet, loaded with tons of funny and informative pictures and articles. Each song has a mini-history and intro written by Alex Hassan.

This show was featured on NPR's "All Things Considered" with Robert Siegel, and has appeared at The Library of Congress, the Kennedy Center, L.A.'s Jonathan club, and Sophia's in New York with Vince Giordano (The Aviator and Boardwalk Empire). It received this recent rave from Michael Feinstein: "You have done something that no one else has ever done by finding and performing, and now recording these songs that were long ago buried and had no chance of ever being heard by anyone!
