This unique joint venture of the Capital City Symphony and Charlie Barnett's Chaise Lounge was a huge hit in March, with a sold-out house.

Charlie Barnett's ultra-cool jazz band,Chaise Lounge, will be performing with the full Capital City Symphony under the baton of Maestra Victoria Gau. The concert will also include Charlie Barnett's Orchestral Suite The Tarot.

Followed by a CD release party for Chaise Lounge: Symphony Lounge, recorded at the March concert. Free noshes, cash bar, CDs for sale, shmoozing!

Join the Capital City Symphony in a family-friendly interactive concert as we make a splash exploring musical depictions of water!

Preceded by the popular Instrument Petting Zoo, 1/2 hour before each performance time.

Our younger audience members will receive their own special program book, full of fun facts, cool quizzes, and more!

Season Prelude - Capital City Symphony

The Capital City Symphony presents its first full concert of the season

Sunday, October 26 at 5pm
at the Atlas Performing Arts Center
1333 H Street, NE, Washington, D.C.

Every two years, the Capital City Symphony features the winner of the Novik Piano Competition, which fosters the development of young artists. This year's winner, Jesse Wong, will be the guest artist for the October 26 concert, performing the Piano Concerto No. 1 by Franz Liszt. The Capital City Symphony is also pleased to welcome a new assistant conductor this season, David Grandis, who makes his conducting debut with CCS with Sarabande by Claude Debussy (arr. Ravel).

The full program includes:

* Richard Wagner, Prelude to Die Meistersinger

* Franz Liszt, Piano Concerto No. 1 ~ Jess Wong, pianist

* Claude Debussy (arr. Ravel), Sarabande ~ conducted by David Grandis, CCS Assistant Conductor

* Igor Stravinsky, Firebird Suite (1919 version)
