LA BELLE HELENE
The second - and equally famous - of Offenbach's highly diverting satires on a well-known legend. The action takes place (without any regard for credibility) in unspecified ancient times in a unlikely ancient Greece, and concerns the abduction of the fair Helen by the Prince of Troy - aided and abetted by a wily oracle-worker, who outwits Helen's much deceived husband and an assortment of royal Grecian heroes. The score includes some of Offenbach's best-loved melodies.

Iolanthe - Washington Savoyards

1968.
Flower Children.

Traditions fall and rules are tossed out.

Fairyland will never be the same when beautiful Iolanthe marries a mortal and gives birth to a half-mortal, half-fairy son. In true Gilbert and Sullivan fashion, this comic light opera has everyone looking for love in all the wrong places.

Director Scott Kenison is creating a spectacular IOLANTHE with fine singing and dancing and great wit, set in the revolutionary year of 1968.

There will be stagecraft never before seen on a Savoyards’ stage. You are in for a treat. This is truly a "must see" for all Gilbert and Sullivan fans and great time for anyone looking for a fun evening at the theater.
