Marketing Director/Publicist, Washington Revels, Washington, DC 2005-2008


Responsibilities included planning and implementation of annual marketing plan, development and maintenance of marketing and publicity databases (community and media contacts), writing and distribution of all marketing/PR materials, interface with designers and printers for production of print materials.




Selected accomplishments for Washington Revels


* Within first four months on the job, substantially increased ticket sales and ticket revenue for the December 2005 Christmas Revels. Maintained that same level for 2006, and increased again for 2007.


* Increased single and group ticket sales by targeting “affinity” groups.


 


Marketing Director/Grant-Writer, California Revels, Oakland, CA 1999-2003

Responsibilities: (see above, Washington Revels) Grant-writing responsibilities included research of grant opportunities and writing of all grants for the organization.




Selected accomplishments for California Revels


* Increased ticket sales from 8,900 in 1998 to 11,500 in 2001.


* Initiated program ad sales in 2001 which paid for half the program costs. By 2003 paid for entire program.


* Increased grant income from $37,000 in 1999 to $65,000 in 2002. (Grant income was $7,800 in 1996 - see San Francisco Bay Revels below)




General Manager, Stage Door Conservatory, Berkeley, CA 1999-2003


Responsibilities included daily operations, budgeting, marketing and publicity, graphic design of all print materials, database management, production of annual summer musical.


Selected accomplishments:


* Since founding, company was full to capacity and ended each season in the black.


* Increased camp attendance from 24 in 1999 to 62 in 2002; continued to increase thereafter.


* Increased audience size from 333 in 1999 to 629 in 2001; continued to increase thereafter.




Executive Director, San Francisco Bay Revels (now California Revels) 1997-1999


Responsibilities included daily operations, budgeting, marketing, development, and production of the annual Christmas Revels at the Scottish Rite Theater in Oakland.


Selected accomplishments:


* Promoted audience development through increased local awareness of Revels and its activities by means of targeted marketing and publicity, more active participation with Theatre Bay Area, and joining the Oakland Chamber of Commerce. The Revels mailing list increased over 26% from 1997 to 1999, including first-time ticket buyers and those who requested information.


* Restructured the Annual Appeal process in 1998 - annual appeal donations increased 30% over the prior year, and increased again in 1999.


* Increased Revels grant income from $7,800 in 1996 to $37,000 in 1999.




Marketing Director, The San Francisco Early Music Society, Berkeley, CA 1994-1996


Selected accomplishments:


* Promoted increased awareness of SFEMS and its activities locally and nationally; developed targeted press list; cultivated personal contacts with press; wrote all press releases and public service announcements and ensured their timely release.


* Within first five months on the job, concert attendance increased by 40% over the previous year; membership in the Society grew 20%. Both numbers continued to increase through 1996.
